At the age of only 36 James Madison helped write the Virginia Constitution, later he was called the Father of the Constitution. The Virginia Constitution was drafted in 1776 and was drafted by George Mason, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. Madison is known for writing the first ten amendments also known as the bill of rights. |
The Bill of Rights are the first ten amendments. James Madison is known as the father of the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights were created on September 25, 1789 they were written by James Madison and were ratified on December 15, 1791. On December 15th amendments three through twelve were ratified and became amendments one through ten. |
The Federalist Papers
The Federalist Papers, originally called The Federalist, are a collection of eighty five essays published in 1788. They were written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay. Madison the leader of the group knew they needed to get the constitution ratified so, the Federalist papers were created to promote ratification of the Constitution. By 1787 only seventy seven of the essays were published and by 1788 all eighty five were published into two volumes.
